Take the next step with an LDI Internship.
Internships
Internships are an opportunity for individuals to step into life on our church staff team. Internships range from 10 months to three years. During this time, participants take classes, participate in ministries, and take time to grow in Christ-like character through mentorship and accountability.

Year 1
LDI Year 1 is a ten month, full-time internship for any follower of Christ! This is a rare opportunity to set aside ten months of your life to strengthen and stretch your relationship with God while growing in practical leadership skills. This internship builds a strong foundation for the lives and faith-walks of its participants by focusing on developing:
Biblical Thinking
Christ-like Character
Ministry Skills
Interns will take core classes with their cohort group:
Old Testament (one semester)
New Testament (one semester)
Systematic Theology (two semesters)
Ministry 101 (two semesters)
Interns will participate in and lead many ministry functions at Hope. Some roles are required (e.g. hospitality, study day, etc.) and other areas of ministry focus will be selected by the individual intern. Interns will also meet weekly for accountability and mentoring with a member of the LDI staff team and participate in Hope staff meetings and events.

Expectation
1. Participation in all of the Trek 1 biblical and theological courses over a 10 month period producing a thorough knowledge of God’s Word, skills to faithfully interpret God’s truth, and greater passion for God and neighbor.
2. Commitment to put on the character of Christ through prayer, mentoring relationships, mutual accountability, and observing the lives and teachings of historical “greats of the faith”.
3. Diligence in ministry through fulfilling the role of small-group shepherd leader, playing an active role in the community of LDI and Hope, and engaging in other chosen ministry fields.
Qualification
Trek 1 participants will become part of the intern staff of Hope Community and, as such, need to meet the qualifications of a deacon. the qualifications are biblically outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
Time Commitment
A great benefit of Year 1 is that it is structured to be a full-time commitment of 45 hours per week. We believe this commitment lends itself to maximum impact in the lives of our LDIers. Any additional desires for alternative schooling or employment need to be discussed with and approved by the LDI director.
Support Raising & Financial Commitment
The majority of interns choose to raise support in order to cover the cost of the program and living expenses. Although support-raising is not required for the program, we believe that it can provide valuable experience for interns. The process of support raising helps interns develop a deeper dependence of God, as well as equipping them to network, build relationships, and communicate their calling to LDI. As a staff team, we prioritize and support LDI interns in this process through training and accountability. God really does show up through support raising, so if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us to talk through it!
In the process of support raising, participants are encouraged to develop a team of ministry partners that will support them financially and prayerfully during the duration of their LDI journey. Donations can be made on a one-time, monthly, or yearly basis. All gifts are tax-deductible. Participants are encouraged to consider other financial obligations when developing ministry partners, such as housing, food, student loans, ongoing bills, and health insurance. These financial needs should be planned for and included when the invitation is made to possible partners.
We realize that the participants of LDI have many considerations, including financial, when making the decision to join LDI. Hope Community Church and LDI have made every effort to keep the financial obligations of this journey to a minimum. In comparison to other leadership development avenues, we believe that LDI is the most affordable and will give you the most “bang for the buck!”
